Martina Trevisan downed Magda Linette in a pretty comfortable fashion to make it 7 match wins in a row. The Italian has been on fire since catching fire in the heat of Rabat and since then she can’t lose on clay.
The match against Linette was a continuation of good play by Trevisan as she need only 79 minutes to win 6-3 6-2. The Italian attacked with her forehand in each rally and got plenty of errors out of Linette. To be completely fair the Polish could not have helped her opponent more by committing 33 errors in 17 games.
That is almost two per game and that will get you beat rather easily. Trevisan has been playing very solid tennis lately.
She’s always been quite solid, moves quickly around the court, the forehand is nice and it gets the job done. Armed with confidence when will be very hard to beat.

Saville Defeats Kvitova
Besting Petra Kvitova at the French Open is a huge win for Daria Saville as she continues her resurgence this year. Kvitova has not been playing well lately and generally is having a very bad year but beating her is never easy.
Saville played a very balanced match hitting 18 winners to only 11 mistakes while Kvitova was the aggressive one. 26 winners but also 30 errors simply were not enough, especially against Saville who played it safe. She had a good plan and it worked.
A similar plan can be employed against Trevisan as she likes to attack as well. She’s a bit more choosy about it than Kvitova so we should really see a good chess match between the players.
If Saville can continue to play her best clay tennis here she might avoid being number 8 on the streak of Trevisan.
Trevisan v Saville Prediction and Tip
This is a very hard one to predict because both are similar players. Both play very smart tennis and both can move well on clay. Trevisan is better on the surface having played much more on it in her career. Overall I do think Saville is the better player but Trevisan is playing the tennis of her life right now.
It’s very to bet against the hot player, especially after she has been so dominating that fatigue should not be an issue. Saville scored a huge win over Kvitova but she’s not been that great on clay this year. I’ll back the Italian to get it done because she’s been so good this past 10 days.
