Novak Djokovic v Aljaz Bedene Head to Head
This will be the fourth meeting between both players, with Djokovic winning on each of the three previous occasions.
They have met twice on clay, at the Rome Masters in 2017 and here at Roland Garros with Djokovic winning in straight sets each time.

Another Clinical Djokovic Outing
After what has been a difficult few months for the world number one primarily due to reasons off the court, it has been a very good comeback by Novak Djokovic.
The early part of the clay season saw Djokovic struggle but slowly and surely he has continued to get back to old form.
A crucial title win in Rome week before last where the world number one looked to be getting back to himself set the foundation for Ronald Garros and the defending champion here has carried it forward.
Opening the defense of his title against Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka, there were some tight moments early on, but once Djokovic got his ‘pop’ going, there was no stopping him.
Dropping only four games in his opener, the Serb played Alex Molcan of Slovakia, who is currently being coached by Marian Vajda who Djokovic parted ways with recently.
Conditions were more difficult and the Serb took a bit to get his arms around the match, but was clinical enough for a 6-2, 6-3 first two sets. A tighter tussle ensued in the third set as the Slovak served better and backed it with aggressive groundstrokes.
However, it was clinical Djokovic in the third set tiebreaker ensuring it was another straight sets win for the Serb.

Bedene Toils Against Veteran Cuevas
Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia has been trying to get back to full fitness after an extended break from the sport by contracting Covid.
He had only won one match on clay this year prior to this week and that was in Belgrade against Mikhail Kukushkin.
However, Bedene improved on that record with a four set win over the Australian wildcard, Christopher O’Connell, the world number 117 in the opener here setting up a match against veteran Pablo Cuevas.
The Uruguayan veteran Cuevas is no stranger to clay and looked like he was taking control of the match up winning the first set 6-4.
But, it was a strong fightback by Bedene who continued to play a mix of attacking and passive tennis and prevailed in a hard fought four setter to make the round of 32 here at the French Open.
Djokovic v Bedene Prediction and Tip
The world number one has been mostly untroubled this week looking every bit the favorite he was at the beginning of the fortnight. Expect another clinical outing from Djokovic and a straight sets win.
