Angelique Kerber v Aliaksandra Sasnovich Head to Head
It’s 2-0 to Kerber, who defeated her Belarusian counterpart as recently as the Strasbourg Open last week in three sets.

For the second time in eight months, Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated the rising British star Emma Raducanu to reach the third round at the Roland Garros. Having lost the first set, she staged a comeback to take the match 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
With this, the 28-year-old has completed her third-round career set in all four Grand Slams. By the looks of it, she is ready to go further but will need to up her game a great deal.
Sasnovich is having one of the best seasons of her career. She reached her third singles final at Melbourne Summer Set – losing ultimately to Amanda Anisimova. Later on, she made it to the quarterfinal in St. Petersburg and round four in Miami. On the back of these results, Sasnovich cracked the top 50 after starting the year as #107.
Her last stint was in Strasbourg where, as a qualifier, she reached round two before losing to Kerber. It was a similar story in Rome as well – this time the defeat came at the hands of Paula Badosa.

Kerber Upsets Jacquemot
Former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber is attempting a career Grand Slam by adding the French Open jewel to her crown.
The timing of it couldn’t be better – having struggled with form woes and early exits for most of this year, she found her rhythm in Strasbourg by bagging her 14th career title. Her previous best run of the year came in Indian Wells where she reached the fourth round.
Here in Paris, the 34-year-old has continued in the same vein. In the opener, she knocked out Magdalena Frech in three sets and followed it with a straight-set win over France’s Elsa Jacquemot.
Armed with incredible experience and rich pedigree, Kerber will look to make the most of this newly-found momentum and go the distance in Paris. With the early exits of several top seeds, the draw is all but open for her.

Kerber is the preferred player to win this one and for all the right reasons. While she has been a bit erratic this year, her ongoing form should help her surpass the lower-ranked and slightly inexperienced Sasnovich.
