Iga Swiatek v Qinwen Zheng Head to Head
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek will lock horns with Qinwen Zheng for the first time on Monday.

Swiatek Scores 31st Straight Win
Iga Swiatek is into the second week of Roland Garros, and that in itself is not a surprise. What was perhaps slightly surprising was the manner in which she got there.
The Pole came through a scrappy 6-3 7-5 win over Montenegro’s Danka Kovinic in the third round to advance. It was the most games that the World No. 1 had dropped in a match since her semifinal win over Ludmilla Samsonova in Stuttgart where she was taken the distance.
Swiatek is yet to drop a set since then, vanquishing her opponents in straight sets and in a routine fashion. Victory over Kovinic on Saturday was not as straightforward. The World No. 95 went toe to toe with Swiatek for pretty much the whole afternoon.
Kovinic hauled herself back from the brink of defeat in the second set when she trailed 4-1. But despite turning the match on its head to lead the set 5-4, Swiatek’s in-game management was on another level. The Pole won three straight games including a timely break of serve to record her 31st consecutive match win.

Zheng Continues Fairytale Run
Qinwen Zheng is one of the hottest prospects rising through the ranks, and she could solidify her status as the best of her generation if she can do the unthinkable on Monday.
Zheng has already thrown a spanner in the works in the opening week, coming from a set down to beat former champion Simona Halep in the second round. It was her first Top 20 win of her young career and a maiden third-round spot in a Grand Slam would suffice.
The 19-year-old was unfazed by the occasion and its environment. In a third-round match against French favorite Alize Cornet, it was Zheng who showed nerves of steel to dominate her experienced opponent.
She led 6-0 3-0 before Cornet retired with a left thigh injury. During the contest, it was evident that the 32-year-old would not perform to her maximum, as she wore heavy strapping on both thighs.
Zheng’s reward is a place in the second week of a Major and will now be looking to record the biggest shock of the French Open in the women’s section this fortnight.
Swiatek v Zheng Prediction and Tip
Beating Swiatek is bordering on impossible right now, but we saw a few cracks appear in that third-round match against Kovinic. As the Pole races to the finish line, she will certainly face a tense climax, and Monday could be a huge test.
