Seeded No. 2, the Swiss has been very successful on grass courts, winning one title in Eastbourne in 2015 and finishing runner-up in three grass-court tournaments.
A winner of six titles, the Olympic champion’s most recent success came in Charleston this year, where she defeated Ons Jabeur in the final.
The World No. 14 brings a 20-9 season record to the tournament. At the French Open, she won the first two rounds with ease, but failed to go past Leylah Fernandez in the third round.
Grass has been the most productive surface for her, where she has a 67% win record (37-18 in main draws). She will be eager to find her feet quickly on the surface in Rosmalen, as she begins preparations for the third major of the year.

Brengle Was a Semifinalist in 2016
Two third round appearances and two second round finishes at Wimbledon suggest that Madison Brengle can be a tough player to beat on grass.
The American, ranked No. 57 in the world, was playing in the ITF Great Britain 09A tournament this week. She won her first two rounds of the grass-court event, but had to retire in the third set of her quarterfinal against Arina Rodionova on Friday.
At the Tour-level, her best results this year included a run to the quarterfinals in Adelaide-2 and a third round appearance in Miami. She won consecutive main draw matches in both the tournaments, but hasn’t been able to do the same in the other events.
Most recently, she won her opener at Roland Garros but fell to Aryna Sabalenka in the second round. Overall, Brengle has a career record of 42-35 on grass, including ITF tournaments.
She has a 3-2 record at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, where she reached the semifinals in 2016.
