Maria Sakkari v Camila Osorio Head to Head

Maria Sakkari started the season on a high note with consecutive runner-up feats in St. Petersburg and Indian Wells Open and a semifinal stint in Doha.
Her form on clay, however, dropped significantly as the best she could salvage was a quarterfinal run in Rome. In the remaining three events of hers – Stuttgart, Madrid, and the Roland Garros, the Greek fell in round two.
To make things more interesting, Sakkari’s record on grass is not entirely convincing. Last year, she played just in the Wimbledon where she lost in round two to Shelby Rogers.
In Nottingham, however, Maria makes for a wonderful exception as she reached the quarterfinal twice in her career. Now that she is the top seed here with a practically open bracket – at least on paper – she is quite primed for a good title run. Plus, her tally at the moment is 20-10 – better than the rest of the field.

Osorio Looking to Impress
20-year-old Camila Osorio has had quite a whirlwind year.
She reached a career-best ranking at the #33 position in April – shortly after reaching the final in Monterrey. It was quite a tournament for the young Colombian, who defeated the likes of Elina Svitolina and Nuria Parrizas Diaz en route to her third singles final.
A few weeks later, she reached the semis in Bogota although, since then, she has only played in two other tournaments.
Osorio lost in round two in both those events – in Rome, she was dismissed by Victoria Azarenka while in Roland Garros, she fell to Diane Perry.
Sakkari v Osorio Prediction and Tip
Sakkari is the clear favourite here; anything but a win would be unacceptable from the current world number three. However, given her rustiness of late, she may be challenged and pushed to a fair number of games before she sees the win.
On a side note, Osorio makes for a good underdog bet as well – she is skilled and may very well stun her Greek adversary. So for the ones who like taking risk, the Colombian is a good call.
