Ekaterina Alexandrova v Dayana Yastremska Head to Head
At tour level, Yastremska holds a narrow 1-0 lead over Alexandrova. The Ukrainian defeated the Russian in the first round of the Miami Open in 2019.

Alexandrova Falls to Begu at Roland Garros
Ekaterina Alexandrova was one of very few players who notched double-digit match wins during the clay-court swing, with 13. She made the semifinals of both Charleston and more impressively as a qualifier at the Madrid Open.
However, her Roland Garros campaign bit the dust in just the second hurdle when she relinquished a one-set lead against Irina-Camelia Begu before bowing out in three sets.
The defeat was such a hard pill to swallow given how much the Russian dominated proceedings against Begu, posting impressive numbers on serve. But when it mattered and in the most important points, it was the Romanian who raised her level and fully merited the win.
Alexandrova was among the list of high-profile seeded players to tumble as early as the second round, but she is unlikely to lose ground on a seeding spot for Wimbledon. And before that, her grasscourt season will begin in the Netherlands, where she reached the quarterfinals on her last visit in 2019.

Yastremska On Three-Match Losing Streak
For the second time this season, Dayana Yastremska has lost three successive matches. Back in mid-March she was in the same plight shortly after advancing into the final of Lyon in that emotional week of the turn of events in her country.
The 22-year-old snapped that losing run in Bogota at the start of April in her first clay-court tournament. She reached the quarterfinals at that event, and it remained to be her best result on the dirt this term.
In Madrid, she was knocked out in the first round after coming through a pair of grueling qualifying matches. And in her next two tournaments, she failed to master a single set, losing at the WTA 125k in Paris and at Roland Garros to Alison Riske.
Yastremska will now turn her attention to the grass courts where she is set to feature on the surface for the first time since 2019. Back then she made the fourth round of Wimbledon. However, with the tour suspended in 2020, and her subsequent doping suspension last season, she hasn’t played on the lawns for three years.
Alexandrova v Yastremska Prediction and Tip
The grass-court season is indeed very short. But for Yastremska, she has missed two seasons in a row and might be the one struggling to adjust on the surface.
