Khachanov Eyes Another Deep Run
A quarterfinalist in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Karen Khachanov brings a 20-15 season record to the tournament.
The World no. 23, who reached his sixth career final in Adelaide at the start of the season, has also featured in two semifinals this year in Doha and Belgrade.
Khachanov has an overall record of 21-11 on grass, which includes a 7-4 record in Halle. The Tokyo Olympics silver medallist lost in the semifinals in 2017 and made it to the last eight in 2018 and 2019. He was however ousted in the opening round by Andrey Rublev last year.
Opening his grass court season in Rosmalen this year, Khachanov scored a straight sets win over Alejandro Tabilo and a comeback win over Kamil Majchrzak in the first two rounds respectively, but fell to Felix Auger-Alissime in the quarterfinals.
How far will he go in Halle?

Karatsev Continues to Struggle
He rose to fame from nowhere last season, but has found the going tough this year.
Ever since winning his third career title at the start of 2022 in Sydney, Aslan Karatsev has struggled to deliver results. He is 2-8 in his last 10 main draw matches and fell in the first qualifying round in Stuttgart last week.
Can Karatsev begin turning things around in Halle? Looks difficult, as the Word no. 40 doesn’t have a lot of experience on grass. He has a 1-2 record at the tour level, 0-1 at the Challenger and hasn’t featured in an ITF grass court competition. If one takes qualifying rounds into consideration, Karatsev has a 1-4 record on gras across levels.
So neither form nor the surface favour Karatsev in Halle.
Khachanov v Karatsev Prediction and Tip
