Ilya Ivashka v Jan-Lennard Struff Head to Head
There have been two previous matches at the ATP level between these players and the scoreline reads 1-1. Both came in 2021, with Struff winning on clay while Ivashka triumphing in Winston-Salem.
Struff had also won a Davis Cup tie against Ivashka way back in 2020.

Ivashka has a solid record on grass and that continued to shine through in his first outing in such a tournament last week.
The Belarusian player, who was 8-11 win-loss before entering the ATP Rosmalen Open, went on to edge out Mackenzie McDonald in the first round before taking the scalp of Emil Ruusuvuori in the second in straight sets.
He finally fell to the world number two Daniil Medvedev but even that match he did not go down without a fight. Medvedev finally came through in two difficult sets, winning 7-6 (8), 6-4.
Ivashka now has a chance to replicate that showing and improve his ranking further to his career-best of 41st when he faces a struggling Struff in his opener.

Struff Finally Wins a Match in Stuttgart
Woeful is the best way to describe Struff’s form this year.
So much so that when he finally managed to overcome another struggling player, Marcos Giron in the first round in Stuttgart, it was just his second win of the season at the highest level.
And the first over five months of tennis.
That win was followed by a second round defeat at the hands of Lorenzo Sonego with Struff falling in straight sets to the Italian.
In his last two appearances here, Struff has managed to win his opening round matches here at Halle but this time around, against a player showing signs of form, it might not get any easier.
