Belinda Bencic v Anna Kalinskaya Head to Head
It’s 1-0 to Bencic; they met just last week in ‘s-Hertogenbosch where the Swiss prevailed 7-6(2), 6-4.

Bencic Survives Niemeier
Belinda Bencic started her campaign in Berlin on a shaky note with a three-set hiccup against the local favourite Jule Niemeier. She ultimately took the match 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to reach round two.
A runner-up in last year’s edition of the German Open, this win was like a deja-vu for the Swiss. Bencic, on her way to the final, defeated Niemier in the opener too in three sets. While the 25-year-old ultimately fell to Liudmila Samsonova, she will quite likely run into the Russian in the quarterfinal itself.
Now ranking World No. 17, Bencic has had a pretty decent year so far. She won her first title on clay (in Charleston) defeating many big guns like Madison Keys, Paula Badosa, and Ons Jabeur. Before that, she was a semifinalist in Miami while most recently, she played in the quarterfinal of the Libema Open.
With four finals on the green courts, Bencic has a rich pedigree on the surface and will fancy her chances of a good run this week.

Kalinskaya Upsets Cornet
Anna Kalinskaya continues to build on her pretty impressive season. The 23-year-old knocked out the French veteran Alize Cornet 6-4, 6-4, in the opening match here in just an hour and 43 minutes.
The Russian made her top 100 debut earlier in the year, peaking at #75. Her biggest wins came on the hard courts in Guadalajara, Miami, and Indian Wells; she reached the third round as a qualifier in the latter two.
Unlike Bencic, Kalinskaya has not fared that greatly on the grass courts. Her win rate is less than 15%; add to this mix her recent loss to Bencic, and it becomes a bit more clear as to why she is the heavy underdog in this match.
Bencic v Kalinskaya Prediction and Tip
Expect Bencic to win this one in straight sets. Cruising high on momentum, she is strong on the surface, has a strong history in the tournament, and is far more experienced than Kalinskaya. All in all, it is a one-sided affair.
Tip: Bencic to Win 2-0: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
