Good Win for Garcia
The career of Caroline Garcia is film-worthy with the French player having a superbly dominant run almost out of nowhere and the faltering completely in the distance. The glory days are long gone for Garcia but every now and then she reminds people of her talent.
Such was the case when she took on the in-form Viktorija Golubic who was excellent in Nottingham last week. The Swiss player played a solid match once more but Garcia prove better in a battle that lasted almost three hours. That match had it all but it was Garcia risk more and consequently be rewarded for it.
There was not much separating her and Golubic by the end of it because the final set ended in a tiebreak with Garcia winning 8-6. It could have easily gone the other way as well. Golubic actually saved for the match at 5-4 and Garcia saved for the match at 6-5.
Quite a mad match but it should give her confidence moving forward.

Boulter the Opportunist
Katie Boulter has played a fairly strong season but she has not played that much. The British player has talent but she can never quite figure things out to properly break out. Grass has always been a safe space for her and she proved it once more.
Alison Riske is a specialist on grass herself and played in the Nottingham final a couple of days ago. That’s why this 6-4 6-3 win for Boulter is so important. It’s a big win against a player that was quite tired. We can safely say she would probably lost this match if Riske was completely rested.
But that’s life and Boulter how has a chance to go forward thanks to the momentum of this match. She did not serve that well against Riske but it was enough to win. When she hits her first serve it’s very hard to win that point and that’s something Garcia will need to be ready for.
Garcia v Boulter Prediction and Tip
This match will be a proper battle and I could easily see it lasting three sets. There is very little that separates them at this part of the season and with grass and playing at home, Boulter might actually be favoured. Obviously, Garcia is overall better but she’s been shaky all season long.
Both are coming off of good wins and should be ready for this challenge but I honestly think that 3-hour clash might be trouble for Garcia. Boulter is a very dedicated opportunist so I could see her using that to her advatange. Let’s back the native Brit to get it done at home.
Tip: Boulter to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
