Simona Halep v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
They have met twice on tour and share the spoils with one win apiece.
Their most recent meeting came at the Billie Jean King Cup where Halep won in straight sets to make it 2-1 in her favour.

Halep had entered the grass court swing at the start of this week having last featured in a grass court competition in 2019. It was at Wimbledon and she had gone on to win that title there.
At the time of writing, Halep is on the verge of playing the WTA Birmingham semifinal against Haddad Maia, and while it is expected to be an intriguing contest given her opponent’s form, the Romanian will start off as a favourite.
And why not, given the ruthlessness with which she has reached the last four stage, dropping a maximum of four games in a set.
Wins over Lesia Tsurenko, Harriet Dart and Katie Boulter have all been quite straightforward with the real test coming against her Brazilian opponent for the semifinal.
Either ways, she would start this off as a huge favourite with her opponent struggling to keep up with her once best ranking of 31st in the world.

Siniakova Hoping for 2021 Repeat
Siniakova had a grass season to remember last year and it consisted of her best ever performance on this surface.
It came at this very tournament with Siniakova reaching the final at the 2021 Bad Homburg Open competition, with wins over Jessica Pegula and Sara Sorribes Tormo punctuating that effort.
In the title-decider she went down to Angelique Kerber, but it had given her enough confidence to continue with that form at Wimbledon.
There, she made it to the third round before losing to the eventual champion Ash Barty but not before she had glimpse of her fighting spirit.
That she lost in the first round in Berlin last week, going down to Bianca Andreescu, might have been a bit of a setback but in the whole scheme of things it looks like a blip on the radar. Sure, Halep isn’t the easiest of opponents but Siniakova would still want to put up a strong showing.

Halep will be a huge favourite here but Siniakova has the game to trouble her more fancied opponent. Expecting a hard-fought, straight-set win for Halep.
