Martina Trevisan played the best event of her career at Roland Garros reaching the semifinal of the event and losing to Coco Gauff. The Italian is a fairly strong player when she’s playing at her top level and that was at Roland Garros.
Coming from Italy it’s only natural that clay is her best surface but she can play well on hard courts as well. Grass courts are a different story and she only played 7 matches on grass in her 28 years of age. She has a 1-6 record in those 7 matches.
That win happened in 2018 and she went 0-2 last year. It’s obvious she doesn’t like grass but perhaps her newfound confidence from Roland Garros can push her to find a good record on the surface as well. There is no reason she couldn’t beat some lower-level players on the surface.
Unfortunately, the draw in Bad Homburg did not serve her a lower-level player. It’s a player that’s very good and coming off a strong showing in Berlin on grass. Keep reading to see what might happen.

Win Number 2 on Grass for Andreescu?
Bianca Andreescu played in Berlin this week and she showed a fairly high level in Berlin beating Katerina Siniakova in a fesity affair where the Czech player had a break up in the final set. It was a superb match from Siniakova but not enough to win.
She then played another strong match against Karolina Pliskova but this time around the Czech player proved better. Andreescu served for the match in that one but rushed quite a bit in key moments and that cost her. It was a much she could have won and probably should have won.
Ultimately it’s been a fairly positive affair for her and she will take that confidence to Bad Homburg. She plays aggressively and attacks and she will like going against Trevisan. It’s a good opponent to extend a solid run on grass as Wimbledon approaches.
Andreesuc has been generally looking better and better over the past few weeks and that’s good as she plans to peak for the North American hard-court swing.
Trevisan v Andreescu Prediction and Tip
As fascinating as Trevisan is to watch I simply can not back her in this spot. She is coming off not playing last week and it will be her first match on grass this year. She’s traditionally quite bad on this surface and going up against Andreescu who looked really good last week.
I guess there is a universe where Trevisan forces Andreescu to sort of implode with absurd court coverage. If it was clay then yeah I could see it. Not on grass though so back Bianca.
