Norrie Gunning for Wimbledon 2021 Repeat

Not that Norrie had a sterling season of grass court tennis season and reached the latter stages of Wimbledon. No, he did not even make the second week, falling in the third round to Roger Federer.

But in making it to the third round, Norrie had made it that far at Wimbledon for the first time in four attempts and followed his showing at the Queen’s Club competition.

The Brit had finished that competition in London as a finalist, losing to Matteo Berrettini, who would later go on to reach the final at Wimbledon too.

At the time of writing, however, Norrie hasn’t done too much on grass in 2022 but has the potential to kick on in Eastbourne. After suffering a first round exit at the Queen’s Club competition earlier this year, Norrie had a first round bye in Eastbourne before he dismissed Brandon Nakashima from the second.

If he can go further in that tournament, the Brit could come into Wimbledon with a better frame of mind in a bid to emulate his last season’s showing.

Andujar Has Always Struggled on Grass

Andujar has played 19 matches on grass in his entire career and won just three of them.

All three of them came at Wimbledon, with a first round victory last year over Pierre-Hugues Herbert and a couple of wins in the first two rounds of the 2015 Wimbledon.

Nothing other than that.

And it showed in Andujar’s decision not to participate at any of the preparatory grass court competitions in the leadup to the season’s third Grand Slam too, like has been the case for this clay court specialist for years now.

What makes things worse for Andujar is his clay court form hasn’t been much to write home about either and that makes this bit of a one-sided contest in favour of his opponent. Andujar might not himself be too perturbed if this result doesn’t go his way.

Norrie v Andujar Prediction and Tip

While Norrie has had his struggles this year, he should not have any such problems against Andujar and carve out an easy win here. Straight sets and without too much trouble in any of the sets either.

Tip: Norrie to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
