Taylor Fritz is in the Eastbourne semifinal and the run here should not surprise anyone. The American has had success here in the past playing the final and winning the trophy in 2019.
It was his first professional trophy and the return here has been rather good for him. The opposition has not been the best with Monteiro and Bublik but he still needed to win the match after losing all previous matches on grass this season.
Fritz has always been rather okay on grass but he never was superb on the surface. Last year he played okay but this run in Eastbourne could give him confidence for the major as well. The opponent will be tricky but he’s beaten him this year in Indian Wells before so he should fancy his chances.

Alex de Minaur won the trophy in Eastbourne last year the Australian battled past Tommy Paul to book the semifinal here. The win meant a lot to him as it’s been a good year overall but he hopes to take it even further. He’s 25-14 overall and 4-2 on grass.
The win over Paul was a hard-fought one especially since he needed to save three break points in the final game of the match. It was dicey but he produced a spectacular effort to save them and win the match. Paul troubled de Minaur quite a bit but the Australian held firm.
There is something about Eastbourne that makes the Australian player well. He runs well on the grass and was the main reason he beat Paul who could not attack consistently. That is something that will work well for him against Fritz as well with the American prone to many errors.
Fritz v de Minaur Prediction and Tip
Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur both won this event in the past but generally speaking the Australian player has played better on the grass than Fritz. His game fits it a bit better because he moves better and quicker around the court. He’s had the advantage in the matchup thus far with a 4-2 lead but Fritz won the final two matches.
The last win for de Minaur came in 2019 and that’s something to remember. I think he will win this one as I’ve been rather impressed by his tenacity this week. Fritz is vulnerable on grass and he certainly is beatable so take the Australian.
