Having featured in the main draw of four editions at Wimbledon, Swan has won one match here. It had come in 2018 when the then-19-year-old shocked Irina Camelia Begu in her opener.
Unfortunately for Swan, that was the only time she won any main draw encounter in a Grand Slam, and while she has been in around the 200-250th rank on the WTA circuit, the lack of results would probably be a tad frustrating.
Take the case of this year alone. Swan managed to lift an ITF title in February but since then her performances have tapered off.
It was only at Bad Homburg she finally won a round, shocking Sloane Stephens as a qualifier before going down to Bianca Andreescu in straight sets in the second.

Kostyuk Makes Eastbourne Quarterfinal
While Kostyuk has done her bit on hard and clay court surfaces, her performances on grass have also shown a steady improvement with time.
From having struggled to qualify for WTA events on grass and Wimbledon between 2017 and 2019, she finally would a round apiece at Birmingham and Wimbledon in 2021.
And earlier this season, Kostyuk went one better by sending Viktorija Golubic and Barbora Krejcikova out in the first two rounds in Eastbourne last week before going down to Harriet Dart.
With that kind of an upswing in Kostyuk’s fortunes, it isn’t too surprising to see her start off a 2/5 favourite to win this against a player ranked more than 140 places behind her.
