2013 Wimbledon semifinalist Kirsten Flipkens will be playing in the main draw for the 12th time and the 36-year-old has announced that this will be the last singles tournament of her career.
The Belgian has one title and three runner-up finishes in singles over her career, but she has done pretty well in the doubles, winning five titles from 13 finals.
Out of the 11 previous appearances at the All England Club, Flipkens has gone out of the first round on just two occasions. Her best came in 2013, when she made it to the final four. As a result of that performance she had peaked to a career-high ranking of 13 in August 2013.
The Belgian comes into this year’s edition in decent touch, having made it to the quarterfinals in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and having reached the Round of 16 in Eastbourne. She has a 6-2 season record on grass, which includes qualifying wins in Eastbourne. She will definitely be eager to win a few matches before calling time on her singles career.

Fourlis Set for Wimbledon Debut
Jaimee Fourlis has qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.
The Australian, who has won three ITF titles this year, scored a comeback win over Dea Herdželaš in the first qualifying round and then defeated Nadia Podoroska and Jessika Ponchet in the next two respectively, to make it to the main draw.
Fourlis improved her career record to 13-7 on grass, having played all her matches at either the ITF or qualifying level.
The World No. 150 won her three ITF titles in Bendigo, Brasov and Madrid. She was also the mixed doubles runner-up with Jason Kubler at the Australian Open this year.
