Bublik Serves His Way Through To Round Two
Alexander Bublik stormed past Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics 6-1, 6-2, 6-4. He was extremely dominant both on serve and return and at no point during the match it seemed like momentum could shift.
The Kazakhstani serve bot smashed 16 aces in the match and played a very high number of drop shots.
Bublik had reached the third round of Wimbledon last year where he lost to eventual semifinalist Hubert Hurkacz. He had beaten Grigor Dimitrov in the second round as a massive underdog.
The world number 38 is now 5-3 on grass this season. Notably, he reached the quarterfinal in Eastbourne last week where he lost to eventual champion Taylor Fritz.

Carreno Busta Retires to Send Lajovic Through
Dusan Lajovic reached the second round of Wimbledon for the fourth time in his career as Carreno Busta had to retire under unfortunate circumstances after scores were 3-6, 6-4 to Lajovic.
Lajovic doesn’t have a great career record on grass. He is 9-22 on grass in his career and has never made it into the third round in Wimbledon.
The Serbian had played in Mallorca last week in order to prepare for Wimbledon. He lost to Daniel Altmaier in straight sets.
Lajovic is 15-18 this year and hasn’t been able to find results since the beginning of 2021. He is currently ranked 64 in the world, 41 places below his career high rank.
Bublik v Lajovic Prediction and Tip
Lajovic doesn’t have the game style to play on grass. He lacks a consistent big serve and prefers slower surfaces. Bublik’s favourite surface is grass where he can serve big and come to the net often. Bublik is the clear favourite here.
