Alcaraz Improving after Tough Opening Start
Carlos Alcaraz looked much sharper today than in round one but he also faced a player that did not play as well as his round one opponent. Tallon Griekspoor is a solid player but Alcaraz is way more talented and he certainly showed it in this match.
He played a rather balanced match not needing any brilliance to get it done. He did not serve as well as he did in round one but he was a bit more solid from the baseline hitting close to 40 winners. It’s a positive showing for him because he’s going to go against a player who loves to play on grass.
Alcaraz still lacks the experience on this surface but he is getting better with every match. The year overall has been spectacular. Multiple titles, with a 34-6 record so far. What more can you add really. Everything is known. He’ll get a matchup that will be tough to overcome but that’s how champions are made.
Otte will make him work, the most so far and he needs to pass the test.

Otte Looking Superb
Oscar Otte nearly beat Andy Murray at Wimbledon last year but this year he’s even better. Otte is doing a Satan Wawrinka by playing his best tennis after the age of 27. The German is 21-17 this year but 7-2 on grass. Otte only played four games in round two against Christian Harrison as his opponent retired.
The German knows only one way to play tennis. It’s super aggressive and attacking. He has a strong serve that serves him well on grass and he builds points from there. He likes short rallies and his matches usually feature him hitting a bunch of winners but also a lot of errors.
Alcaraz will have to work hard in this matchup but he has the defensive skills to do it. Otte will have a tough time breaking down the super-quick Spaniard but he has the better serve.
If he can hit it a high level as Struff did, there might be a chance for him to do something.
Alcaraz v Otte Prediction and Tip
So Alcaraz is the better player here but doesn’t expect him to simply cruise through this matchup. Otte can hurt him simply because the German won’t care. He won’t be shaken mentally and he’ll simply keep going with his attacking playing.
Alcaraz will win this match, at least I expect him to but it won’t be easy. I could see him lose at least one set and maybe even more.
Tip: Alcaraz to win in four sets: 4/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
