Jannik Sinner v John Isner Head to Head
This will be the third meeting between both players with the head-to-head tied at 1-1. Both meetings were in 2021. While Sinner won at the Davis Cup finals in Spain, Isner prevailed in the ATP Masters 1000 meeting in Cincinatti.

Sinner Getting More Comfortable On Grass
Jannik Sinner came to Wimbledon at the back of having pulled out of the French Open with injury and then only having played one match on grass, i.e a three set loss to Tommy Paul at Eastbourne, the week before the third major of the year.
Having never won a match at SW19, it was tough opener for the Italian against the Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka. However, Sinner stood strong despite a second set loss and prevailed in four sets.
The impact of Darren Cahill on Sinner’s game was evident as he has remained both mentally and physically strong during clutch moments in the first two rounds.
Playing Mikael Ymer of Sweden in the second round, Sinner was off to a clinical start taking the first two sets 6-4,6-3.
Ymer kept the fight going with an aggressive third set showing and a 7-5 win as the Italian’s level had evidently dropped.
Unlike Sinner of old, the tenth seed pulled back quick and looked to reset the fourth set with two breaks of serve and a 6-2 win for a spot in the round of 32.

Strong Murray Win For Isner
After a tight opening round match against Frenchman Enzo Couacaud, where Isner came back from two sets to one to prevail, the American was up against former world number one Andy Murray on Center Court.
Isner was off to a good start with the serve firing as usual and with one break on the third Murray service game, he took the first set 6-4.
The second set was more even on serve as it headed into the tiebreak. Clutch Isner serving saw him take a two sets to love lead with a 7-4 breaker.
Murray continued to hang in but the Isner serve was difficult to break in the third set too as the match headed into another tiebreak. The two-time Wimbledon champion was clinical in the tiebreak closing out 7-3 and pulling one set back.
A return to prevail in five sets for Murray looked difficult and so it was, as Isner broke midway through the fourth set and closed the match and fourth set 6-4 going into the third round, with this first ever win over the Briton in their ninth meeting.
Sinner v Isner Prediction and Tip
This promises to be an exciting encounter between two varied playing approaches. While Isner relies mostly on his serve, Sinner is an all court player.
Both players have come through challenges in the first two rounds, but Isner will be especially driven after his Center Court win over Andy Murray.
A tight contest on the cards, but the younger legs of Sinner with the better all round game should prevail in a four-setter.
