Stefanos Tsitsipas v Nick Kyrgios Head to Head

This rivalry has seen three previous encounters which Kyrgios winning every single time. This includes a match played as recently as in June, at Halle where Kyrgios won in three sets to progress to the quarterfinal.

Tsitsipas Tames Thompson

After getting pushed to a four-setter by the little-known Alexander Ritschard in his first round match, Tsitsipas was a lot more clinical in his second round win over Jordan Thompson.

Having started off as a 1/5 favourite against Thompson, Tsitsipas needed a mere two hours and six minutes to get past his Aussie opponent, winning 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 to proceed to the third round.

Other than a bit of a blip in the second set where Tsitsipas dropped his serve in the fourth game, there was no cause for alarm for the Greek number one. He walked away to an early break in the first set and sealed the deal with another towards the end of that set.

And while he trailed 3-1 in the second set, Tsitsipas broke Thompson thrice more to race off to a two sets to love lead.

Thompson put up a stronger fight in the third set, managing to stave off Tsitsipas till the 11th game, facing no break-points till then. It was when he served to stay in the match at 5-6 that Thompson’s serve faltered and Tsitsipas converted the third match-point he got to finish things off.

Tsitsipas would have loved that result given he’s coming up against a player who is not just in good form but has also had a wood over him.

Kyrgios Dismisses Krajinovic

Filip Krajinovic wouldn’t have come into his second round match with a lot of illusions of getting the better of Kyrgios. And yet the world number 31 would have expected to do a lot better than the mere six games he won in the encounter.

Kyrgios completed a 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 rout of Krajinovic with the players not even remaining on court for 90 minutes.

Blasting 24 aces in the match, Kyrgios did not face a single break-point, winning a whopping 37 of the 40 points on his first serve.

Krajinovic managed to get a few points off the Kyrgios second serve but for the Aussie to lose just nine overall points on his serve in the entire match is an indication of how things could get difficult for some of the best in the business if he can get things right on his serve.

Especially Tsitsipas, who has had his woes against the Aussie.

Tsitsipas v Kyrgios Prediction and Tip

Not surprisingly, Kyrgios has been tipped to take Tsitsipas down here and unless the Greek can come up with something special, we will have to back those odds. A very bold call here, but Tsitsipas could struggle to take a set here.

Tip: Kyrgios to win: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
