Number 14 seed in Wimbledon this year, Barbora Krejicikova has sailed through her first two matches in London.
She defeated Maryna Zanevska 7-6(4), 6-3 in the first round and then followed it up with a 6-3, 6-4 over last year’s quarterfinalist Viktorija Golubic.
The 2021 French Open winner, Krejicikova has had to sit out for most parts of this season due to an elbow injury. She has only played 17 matches this year and this third round match will only be her fifth match since returning from the injury break.
Krejicikova had started her grass season in Eastbourne where she played a three set thriller against Marta Kostyuk. She is gradually returning to her peak fitness and is still not there yet.
However her game flows very naturally on grass as she doesn’t try to outhit her opponents. Her only concern will be her second serve has become quite weak and is quite prone to double faults.
The Czech star had reached the round of 16 in Wimbledon last year where she lost to eventual champion Ashleigh Barty.

Tomljanovic Showing Form of Her 2021 Wimbledon Run
Ajla Tomljanovic has shown two strong displays in her first two matches in Wimbledon. She defeated Jil Teichmann 6-2, 6-3 in the first round and then took apart qualifier Catherine Harrison 6-2, 6-2.
The Australian had reached the quarterfinal of Wimbledon last year where similarly to Krejicikova, she lost to eventual champion Ashleigh Barty.
She has been extremely aggressive on the return of serve. Tomljanovic created 17 break points against Teichmann and 13 break chances against Harrison. Her break point conversion got better in the second round.
Tomljanovic has a very good record on grass this year and will be confident she can put on another strong show in the third round.
Krejcikova v Tomljanovic Prediction and Tip
Krejicikova has reached the third round extremely comfortably without having had to work very hard. While Tomljanovic has been more aggressive in her approach and is looking in top form. Best option is to go with over games as we could see a tie break or three setter.
