Djokovic Outclasses Kecmanovic
Novak Djokovic continued his march towards a fourth consecutive Wimbledon title as he knocked out fellow Serbian, Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets on Friday.
The World No. 3 was impressive from the start, bageling Kecmanovic in the opening set. Although the World no. 30 finally won a few games in the second set, Djokovic didn’t face a single break point in the set and converted one of four to take a two-sets-to-love lead.
Djokovic was racing away to victory having broken Kecmanovic twice and taken a 5-2 lead in the third set, but the latter didn’t allow him to serve out the match in the next game, winning two games in a row. Djokovic eventually held on for a 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 victory in an hour and 55 minutes.
The 20-time Grand Slam campion struck 36 winners and made 19 unforced errors to Kecmanovic’s 13 winners and 27 unforced errors.
This was Djokovic’s second straight three-set win in the tournament this year. The former no. 1, who extended his Wimbledon streak to 24 matches on Friday, had beaten Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. He had dropped a set in the first round though, during a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Kwon Soon-woo.
A six-time champion at Wimbledon, Djokovic is now 82-10 in the tournament. Can he keep his winning streak going with a win over Van Rijthoven?

Van Rijthoven Extends Unbeaten Run
Tim Van Rijthoven continued to impress on his Grand Slam debut as the Dutchman defeated Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets to reach the fourth round.
With the victory, the wildcard extended his unbeaten streak to 8-0 in 2022. The World no. 104 had won all five of his matches to win the ‘s-Hertogenbosch title, which was his only tour-level event of the season before Wimbledon. Van Rijthoven had beaten the top three seeds in Taylor Fritz (3), Felix Auger-Aliassime (2), and Daniil Medevedev (1) to win the title.
The Dutchman continued his winning streak at Wimbledon, knocking out Argentina’s Federico Delbonis 7-6 (9-7), 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round. He next defeated 15th seed Reilly Opelka 6-4, 6-7 (8-10), 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-4) in a three-hour-and-seven-minute second round contest.
On Friday, Van Rijthoven kept his winning run going by dispatching Basilashvili 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 41 minutes.
The 25-year-old debutant, who hit 32 aces in the first two rounds combined, struck 21 aces against the Georgian. He also won 88% first serve points and converted 6 of 15 break points and saved half of four.
Djokovic v Van Rijthoven Prediction and Tip
This is going to be an intriguing contest. Although Van Rijthoven is the surprise package, he will be up against a Wimbledon legend, who has won 24 matches in a row in the tournament. Expect Djokovic to win and enter the quarterfinal for the 13th time at Wimbledon but the Dutchman could take a set of him.
Tip: Djokovic to win AND Both players to win a set: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
