Halep at her Best
From going to losing her love for tennis to rediscovering that zest for the sport, Simona Halep has seen it all in the last year and a half.
Injuries kept her out of action for most of last season; she returned late to the tour but by then, she was already out of the top 10.
Halep has since spent her time building her form and planning her comeback – all the while working with her new coach Patrick Mouratoglou.
As of Sunday, Simona, now ranked World No. 18, is 29-8 having beaten Karolina Muchova, Kirsten Flipkens, and Magdalena Frech in straight sets in London. The 30-year-old is clearly moving closer and closer to her clinical self as most recently, she reached the semis in Bad Homburg and Birmingham. She also has a rich history at the Sw19 – 24-8 with a title in 2019.
As a former world number one, Halep is well-versed with players across all tiers. In 2022, she has benefited from wins over the likes of Ons Jabeur, Beatriz Haddad Maia, Veronika Kudermetova, Coco Gauff, Badosa, and many more.

Badosa Builds her Grass Form
Number four seed Paula Badosa has been near-flawless in London so far as she dismissed the likes of Louisa Chirico and Irina Bara in straight sets. Her biggest conquest of the tournament came when she took out the two-time Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova 7-5, 7-6(4).
With these wins, her grass tally through the career now stands at 8-7 although, she has no titles on the surface.
Badosa, current World No. 4, had only one tune-up event on road to the SW19. She featured in the Eastbourne International but lost in the opening round to Jodie Burrage in straight sets.
That said, Paula has enjoyed a consistent season on the whole; she is 27-12 with late-stage appearances in Charleston, Stuttgart, Miami, Indian Wells, and Sydney.
Halep v Badosa Prediction and Tip
Simona Halep is the odds-on favourite – she is well-experienced, has already beaten her opponent once, and happens to be in brilliant form. Her grass pedigree is also far superior when compared to Badosa’s.
That said, the Spaniard has got the skills to carve the upset. A lot will depend on how quickly she finds her groove on Monday and prevents Halep from making gains. Expect a scintillating match.
Tip: Halep to Win, Over 20.5 Games: 11/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
