Simona Halep v Amanda Anisimova Head to Head

It is 2-1 to Halep. They last met in WTA Bad Homburg just a few weeks back where the Romanian stormed into the semis with 6-2, 6-1.

Halep, Simply Unstoppable

After what seems like a long wait following her trysts with injuries and fitness, former world number one, current World No. 18 Simona Halep is playing the kind of tennis that took her to the apex a few years ago.

Her title run in the 2019 Wimbledon saw her lost just one set – a three-set surprise with Mihaela Buzarnescu in round two. Thereafter, Halep knocked out Victoria Azarenka, Coco Gauff, Shuai Zhang, Elina Svitolina, and Serena Williams in comfortable straight sets.

Three years on, the 30-year-old is at it again – this time with wins over Karolina Muchova, Kirsten Flipkens, Magdalena Frech, and most recently, World No. 4 Paula Badosa. In fact, it was absolute schooling for the rising Spaniard as Simona delivered a masterclass with 6-1., 6-2 – winning 89% of the points behind the first serve.

This has become a routine-like pattern for the number 16 seed, who also made it to the semis in the Birmingham and Bad Homburg. She is now 30-8 with quarterfinal or better results in six tournaments.

Anisimova on a Roll

20-year-old Amanda Anisimova will be pleased with the way things have gone for her. Seeded 20, she was in a tricky quarter with the likes of Coco Gauff, Karolina Pliskova, and Serena Williams.

However, things worked out quite well for her as she survived less threatening players like Yuan Yue, Lauren Davis, and Harmony Tan. She did meet Gauff but took the match 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-1.

This is American’s second-best major result with the other being her semifinal run in the French Open 2019. Back then, she beat none other than her Romanian adversary 6-2, 6-4 to reach the elite four.

With this, Amanda has put herself in a solid position with 29-10 and a singles title. Like Halep, she too has had a pretty solid year across all the surfaces with deep runs in Madrid, Rome, and Charleston.

Halep v Anisimova Prediction and Tip

Halep is the heavy favourite here but Anisimova has a chance in all fairness. Those fancying underdogs may back her while on the safer side, this looks like Simona’s match to lose.

Tip: Halep to Win 2-0: 3/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
