Phenomenal Comeback by Djokovic

The 20-time major champion is eyeing his seventh title at the All England Club and that surely looked questionable at times during his quarter-final encounter with Jannik Sinner.

After looking increasingly clinical in the previous rounds, the defending champion looked to carry on from where he had left and was off to a strong start leading 4-1 and about to break and close the set.

The Italian 20-year-old had other plans and broke the Serb to level the set at 4-4.  A strong return game by Sinner followed to break again and serve out the set 7-5.

Sinner broke early in the second and when he broke again after some clutch holds for a 5-2 lead, it looked all but over for Djokovic as Sinner closed the set on his serve.

Down two sets to love, if there was anyone who could come back, it was Djokovic.

The Serb tried to recuperate after a toilet break and broke the Italian early in the third and holding on to serve out the third set 6-3.

Two consecutive break in the fourth set took him to a 4-0 lead and there was no looking back with the match headed for a decider.

A Djokovic masterclass followed with some strong serving and incredible court coverage to break early in the fifth and serve out the decider 6-2 and book another spot in the final four at Wimbledon

Norrie Prevails In Goffin Epic

Cameron Norrie reached the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career after the World no. 12 scored a convincing straight sets win over American Tommy Paul

The Briton has been building on his resume since last year, becoming the number one British player, winning the Indian Wells Masters 1000 last year, lifting trophies at Delray Beach and Lyon this year and being runner-up in Acupulco as well.

Although his start at the Championships did not look as assured in week one, with a close escape against Spain’s Jaume Munar, Norrie seemed to be getting it together at the right time.

Up against veteran David Goffin for a spot in the semis,  it was a poor start for the Briton as Goffin was up a set and a break.

Norrie worked his way back into the set and eventually won it 7-5.

A clinical Goffin performance followed in the third set, but there was no letting go by Norrie thereafter.

Strong serving and great groundstrokes saw Norrie take the match into a decider as he upped  his dedication and grit in the clutch moments.

A five-set win by the British number one was much to the delight of the English crowd, who will be rooting for him in Friday’semi-final.

Djokovic v Norrie Prediction and Tip

A very well deserved semi-final in front of his home fans for Norrie, but he is up against one of the best on this court and of all time.

Djokovic will be focused after his recovery in the quarters and can be expected to be clinical next round.

Expect a straight sets win for the six-time Wimbledon champion.
