Ons Jabeur v Tatjana Maria
So this matchup is a fabulous one for many reasons. One of which is that these players are very good friends off the court and they will certainly enjoy playing against each other. They both showed a high level of tennis so far at Wimbledon albeit in different ways.
Jabeur has demonstrated a very high level of grass bordering on mastery of the surface and it’s certainly something to keep in mind for this match as well. She’s in form, she’s been very consistent this year and she’s win trophies already. Nothing should make her nervous in this matchup.
For Maria, it’s been a similar fairytale run because it came out of nowhere. She had some luck with the draw but her determination is what got her here. Grit and defensive play are hallmarks of her play and that could certainly work against Jabeur as she tends to rush at times.
If she can keep her frustrated and out of a good rhythm she might get the match gifted. It’s unlikely but at this stage of the event, anything can really happen. Expect a good match but Jabeur to get the win.
Tip: Jabeur to win in straight sets: 4/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Simona Halep v Elena Rybakina
These two players have played really strong tennis to get to this stage of Wimbledon however Halep has been particularly impressive. It’s no wonder, she’s a former champ here and her active streak that started in 2019 is still going strong.
Rybakina has done well to reach the semi-final but she’s been vulnerable. Just in her last match, she faced a very tricky opponent in Tomljanovic and it took her quite a while to finally figure things out. She won’t have that luxury against Halep although she was able to trouble the Romanian player in the past.
Halep leads the H2H 2-1 with the only win Rybakina got coming after Simona’s retirement in 2019. Both their other matches went to three sets but Halep was able to come on top. Rybakina is a great server and it worked well for her so far at the event but Halep has been the best returned so far as well.
The blueprint is simple for Halep. Return well and move Rybakina around. Basically the same she did to Anisimova and that was a great warm-up for her. I can see Rybakian keeping this close but I don’t think she can stop Halep. Simona has been too good.
Tip: Halep to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
