Niemeier Hungry for More
Jule Niemeier arrived in Switzerland on the back of her best Grand Slam results. Sailing high on momentum and now set to play on her preferred clay courts, the 22-year-old German is poised to reach new heights.
She reached the quarterfinal at the SW19 after upsetting the likes of Anett Kontaveit, Lesia Tsurenko, and Heather Watson. It is a shame that there were no ranking points in play; otherwise, Jule would have cracked the top 100 again and ascended to her career-best ranking.
Now ranking World No. 109, Jule has a bit of rhythm to her form (29-14). She won a couple of clay tournaments – notably the ITF Zagreb and the Makarska Challenger in Croatia (both on clay).
Up until that Wimbledon run, Niemeier’s resume was slim on WTA tour-level wins but now, we can expect her to cause ripples wherever she competes.

In-Albon, Looking Sharp
Ylena In-Albon, age 23, has had a bit of a similar year to Niemeier’s. Although the Swiss did not register any high-profile wins, she did have a decent season with a tally of 28-19.
She has three ITF finals to her name in 2022 (two runner-ups, one title) – all on the red dirt. In fact, most of her season has gone by on the ITF circuit.
But now, In-Albon is looking to shake things up a bit and move in the rankings. She is now placed #121 and made her Grand Slam main-draw debut only recently.
Ylena played at Wimbledon but fell to Alison Riske-Amritraj in round one.
Niemeier v In-Albon Prediction and Tip
The onus is on Niemeier, who is the favourite here, to prove that her Wimbledon run was not a one-hit wonder.
In many ways, she is still in the same league as In-Albon but given her momentum and superior tour experience, she has a better chance of winning this one. Expect a good match.
Tip: Niemeier to Win, Over 20.5: 11/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
