Francisco Cerundolo v Daniel Altmaier Head to Head
They played once before and Altmaier won that match at the Como Challenger in 2019.

Trophy Run for Cerundolo in Bastad
Francisco Cerundolo had a superb week in Bastad beating several notable players there to win the trophy. It’s been a superb display of clay tennis that left many amazed with his level. Casper Ruud in three sets, Aslan Karatsev in two, Pablo Carreno-Busta in two and compatriot Sebastian Baez in two.
That’s an impressive list of players to beat on clay and it’s been a culmination of things that happened earlier this year. Cerundolo flashed his potential quite a few times this year but things finally fell into place in Sweden.
It’s been a proper breakout year for him with a 30-19 record and he’s been doing it on all surfaces. On clay he’s 22-11, on hard it’s 7-5, and on grass, it’s 1-3. Not that great on grass but fairly solid match against Nadal at Wimbledon.
He might be tired after this one but they were quick matches and I think he’ll recover in time.

Altmaier Back Home
Daniel Altmaier is generally enjoying a very solid year with a 20-21 record but that’s the problem. It’s solid while he’s capable of much more. He’s not disappointed though as he’s back inside the top 100 where he wasn’t this time last year.
Altmaier is a prototypical player from Germany. He can essentially play on any surface but he likes to play most on clay. Last week in Bastad he played a rather weak match against native Elias Ymer who beat him in two sets. Now he’ll be back home and motivated.
Altmaier is a tricky player to gauge because so much of his level depends on the day. At times he’s pretty strong, but other days he’s rather weak. I suspect we might see good Altamier tomorrow but it will be very hard for him to win this match.
He’s facing a player on fire who will be determined to continue the winning streak.
Cerundolo v Altmaier Prediction and Tip
So this match largely depends on how you view the fitness of Cerundolo. If you think he’ll be depleted in this one stay away from it. If you’re like me and you think he’ll continue to win matches then back him comfortably. All his matches were fairly close, he’s young so I’ll back him to win.
Tip: Cerundolo to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
