Ylena In-Albon prefers playing on clay courts, and a 186-99 record, across levels, is a proof of that. She is 37-19 on hard courts, and 2-3 on grass, a surface where she made her Grand Slam debut this year, only to lose in the opening round.
In-Albon, 23, is yet to make a mark on the tour, but has already won 11 titles from 16 ITF finals. Last year she won four titles from five finals, while this year she reached three finals, winning the title in Saint-Gaudens, France; and finishing runner-up in Medellín, Colombia and Grado, Italy. All three of those tournaments were clay court events.
On clay, In-Albon has won seven ITF titles, and finished runner-up on four occasions.

Jeanjean Qualifies for Main Draw
Facing In-Albon will be France’s Leolia Jeanjean, who qualified for the main draw with a three-set win over Austria’s Julia Grabher on Sunday.
The World No. 151 converted 8 of 16 break points and saved 8 of 14 to win the two-hour-and-34-minute second qualifying round contest 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
Jeanjean had defeated compatriot Elsa Jacquemot 6-4, 6-3 in the first qualifying round on Saturday.
The 26-year-old right-hander, who made her major debut at the French Open this year, had stunned former No. 1 Karolina Pliskova in the second round of the clay court major before falling in the Round of 32.
Jeanjean is 37-15 in 2022, across levels and 14-7 on clay. She has featured in three ITF finals this year, all on hard courts, winning the title in Calvi, France. Last week, she had qualified for Lausanne as well, and then received a walkover in the opening round against Tatjana Maria, but she faltered in the second round against Caroline Garcia.

Although Jeanjean has not gone deep in clay court tournaments this year, she has shown good form on the surface recently. In contrast In-Albon hasn’t won a match in over a month. So, the momentum is with Jeanjean and she could take out the higher ranked Swiss on Monday.
