Peterson Has Mostly Struggled in 2022
This year has been a real struggle for the 26-year-old Rebecca Peterson, who has seen a steady decline in the rankings. A top 10 win over Aryna Sabalenka in Adelaide and a quarterfinal finish at the WTA 125 in Bastad are the only highlights for the Swede.
Overall Peterson is 17-12 this year and 5-3 on hard courts but most of her wins have come in the qualifying rounds or the lower level tournaments. She is 6-10 in the main draws on the tour in 2022.
Most recently, Peterson featured in Hamburg, beating Kateryna Baindl in the first round but falling to Anett Kontaveit in the next.
The Swede, who has won two WTA titles, both on hard courts in 2019, will be making her debut in Prague. Can the shift to hard courts change her fortunes and help her return to winning ways?

Wang Comes Through Qualifiers
Qiang Wang has qualified for the main draw with back-to-back straight set wins in the qualifying rounds over the last two days.
The 30-year-old beat Australia’s Kaylah McPhee 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday and then handed Russia’s Valeria Savinykh a 6-3, 6-2 defeat in the second qualifying round on Sunday.
Thanks to the wins the World No. 141 will be featuring in the main draw of a tour-level event for the 11th time this year. She is 9-10 in the main draws and that includes a semifinal finish in Guadalajara and a quarterfinal appearance in Monterrey.
Wang also made it to the third round of the Australian Open and reached the second round of Wimbledon and the Miami Open.
This is her first event since Wimbledon, where she defeated Belinda Bencic in the opening round. Having made a good start in the qualifiers she will be hoping to carry that form in the main draws.
Peterson v Wang Prediction and Tip
Peterson is the higher ranked player but Wang has displayed better form throughout the year. Expect the Chinese player to keep the winning run going in the main draw.
Tip: Wang to win in three sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
