Roberto Bautista Agut v Albert Ramos-Vinolas Head to Head

They played nine times before with Albert Ramos leading 5-4.

Ramos Cruising in Kitzbuhel

Albert Ramos played really strong tennis last week in Gstaad demonstrating that his tennis works really well in high altitude. He brought a similar level to Kitzbuhel and he’s in another semifinal this year with a chance to get into the final.

He only needs to beat a player who has beaten him plenty of times in the best but he’s also beaten him five times before as well. To get here, Ramos had to take down another compatriot Pedro Martinez and he did it comfortably without any issues.

The lefty has his forehand working well and the service is backing it up. As long he’s hitting those shots vey precisely he will have chances in this one. It could be significant because his season overall has not been that good. He’s 21-16 on clay and 21-20 overall.

It’s far from special but also slightly better than last year so it matters.

Bautista Barely Beating Lehecka

Roberto Bautista Agut had to dig deep in order to find himself in the semifinal of Kitzbuhel but he was able to do against a very inspired effort from Jiri Lehecka. The Czech player frustrated the Spaniard with his signature serve plus forehand combo that worked really well.

Over time, Bautista was able to adjust properly and create chances for himself that won him the 2nd set. Then he went out and played fairly well to secure the semifinal. His reward will be playing a Spaniard who enjoys playing in these conditions as well.

Bautista is having a very good year with a 25-11 record overall and 3-3 overall. He’s generally a very good player on clay but not a natural fit. His game fits better on faster courts however he makes it work.

His recent form has been decent enough but he needs a strong showing to finally make that breakthrough that’s looming. Last year he was beaten by Spaniard here so he will be eager to ensure a different result this time around.

Ramos-Vinolas v Bautista Agut Prediction and Tip

So this is an interesting matchup between two players who have beaten each other in the past before. They played nine times before with Ramos leading 5-4 but that last match happened in 2017.

Much changed since then and Bautista is having a far better year so far. I think he’ll win because the final slipped away from him last year and I think he’s hungry enough to get it this time around.

Tip: Bautista Agut to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
