Slone Stephens v Ajla Tomljanovic Head to Head

Tomljanovic Now Australian Number One
With the shock retirement of Ashleigh Barty, Tomljanovic inherited the Australian number one mantle, although she has yet to experience anything like the success her compatriot enjoyed.
Her ranking has also suffered recently as points that she earned in the previous 12 months expired, and has been one of those unfairly penalised because her Wimbledon quarter-final appearance counted for nothing in that regard.
That was her second quarter-final at the All-England Club, by far her best showing in a Grand Slam.
This will be her first match since her defeat to the eventual champion Elene Rybakina, and she will be looking to build on her performances in South-West London to boost her rankings again.

Although Stephens is the higher ranked of the pair, that does not tell the whole story, and, based on what they did at Wimbledon, the last tournamwent for both of them, Tomljanovic can regard herself as the favourite for this match.
