Taylor Fritz v Daniel Evans Head to Head
Fritz won their only tour level meeting in Rome last year. He also won at a lower level tournament in 2015.

Fritz Begins With a Convincing Win
World no. 13 Taylor Fritz made a brisk start in Washington, beating Alexei Popyrin in straight sets in the second round on Wednesday.
The third seed, who had a first-round bye, needed just an hour and 12 minutes to beat the Australian 6-4, 6-3.
Fritz was out-aced by the Aussie 3-11, but the American won 91% points on his first serve, saved both the break points that he faced and converted 3 of 5 to improve his season record to 30-11.
In what’s turning out to be the best year of his career, Fritz won his maiden ATP 1000 title at Indian Wells and picked up a second title of the season in Eastbourne — a tournament where he had won his only ATP title before this season.
Fritz also registered his best Grand Slam result this year, making a quarterfinal debut in a major at Wimbledon. A win on Thursday will see him reach a seventh quarterfinal of the season.

Evans Eases Past Edmund
World no. 40 Daniel Evans, too, made a swift start, easing past compatriot Kyle Edmund in the opener.
Evans dropped just two points on his serve and seven points on return to take the first set in just 23 minutes. He also raced to a 5-1 lead in the second before being broken by the World no. 639 for the first time in the match. Evans broke back in the next game though and sealed the 64-minute contest 6-1, 6-2.
The World no. 40, who is playing in Washington for the fourth time, converted 6 of 8 break points and won 65% of total points in the match.
The win improved Evans’s season record to 14-16. Apart from a semifinal finish in Sydney he hasn’t had much success at the tour-level. However, the 32-year-old did win in Nottingham to pick up his ninth Challenger title.
Fritz v Evans Prediction and Tip
