Paul Reached Wimbledon Fourth Round

A Grand Slam winner and runner-up as a junior, Paul made his breakthrough on the senior tour last November, when he won the Swedish Open.

And earlier this year, he showed some of that same form by reaching successive third rounds at Indian Wells and Miami.

More recently, he has achieved his best showing in a Grand Slam by reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon, before losing to Cameron Norrie.

He followed that up by reaching the quarter-final in Atlanta, but failed to get beyond the first-round in Washington, losing to Nick Kyrgios in straight sets.

Injury Prone Pospisil Gets Wildcard

Pospisil has suffered a string of injuries in the past 18 months, which have cause d him to miss large swathes of playing time and his ranking has suffered as a result.

Fortunately, organisers have deemed fit to issue him with a  wildcard for his home event, so he is saved the necessity of qualifying.

And that is perhaps fitting for a man who reached the semi-finals in the singles here in 2013, and the same stage in the doubles three years later in this very tournament.

He has not won a match on the main tour since reaching the quarter-finals in Dallas in February, and was last in action in a Challenger event in Winnipeg, where he had to retire from his first round match with yet another injury.

Paul v Pospisil Prediction and Tip

Pospisil has home advantage, but, given his recent struggles with injury and form, would appear to have little else going for him in this match. Paul should win with ease.

Tip: Paul to win in straight sets: 4/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
