Frances Tiafoe v Benjamin Bonzi Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between Tiafoe and Bonzi with the first having also come this year. That was played at the French Open in May this season and Tiafoe was a straight-set winner over his French opponent.

Before going into Wimbledon this season, Tiafoe had a win-loss record of 13-13 for the year. Since then, however, he has shown the kind of form that could propel him further up the rankings charts if he could maintain that kind of consistency.
After making it to the fourth round at Wimbledon, Tiafoe has now figured in two hard court competitions on the American soil and has won a couple of rounds in both.
At Atlanta, Tiafoe had a first round bye before coming through against Taro Daniel and Brandon Nakashima, before losing to Jenson Brooksby.
This was followed by his performance at the Washington Open where he defeated Christopher Eubanks and Botic van de Zandschulp in the first round couple of rounds. And even against Nick Kyrgios, to whom he eventually lost, Tiafoe had his chances – he had five match-points – before going down in a thrilling three-setter.
He will start off a favourite in this one.

Bonzi Hoping to Improve Record
Overall, Bonzi has a 22-25 win-loss record at the highest level while on hard court surfaces, he has won just 10 of his 22 matches. These are kind of numbers which underline the fact Bonzi’s career-best ranking is 44th and not better.
For him to try and break into the top 20 – and there is no reason why he cannot do that – Bonzi will need to do a lot better.
For instance, overcoming an in-form Tiafoe would be something to play for but even defeats to players like Christopher Eubanks which happened last week in Washington will need to be avoided.
Coming into that match as a 3/5 favourite, Bonzi went down in three sets.
Bonzi has a lot of work to do to get past Tiafoe given his current record.
