Andrey Rublev v Daniel Evans Head to Head
The tally stands at 3-2 for Rublev.
Andrey has won their last two meetings (both in 2022) in Dubai and Madrid in straight sets.

Evans Beats Krajinovic
Daniel Evans, age 32, started his Canadian Open campaign in Montreal with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 win over Filip Krajinovic.
Now ranked World No. 39, the British player has had a good start to the US Open swing and now looks to build on it further. His last tournament was in Washington, where he made it to the quarterfinal before losing to the eventual runner-up Yoshihito Nishioka.
That run, alongside a Challenger title feat in Nottingham and a semifinal appearance in the Sydney International, is among the high points of his season.
Daniel had succumbed early in other tournaments, which also explains his record of 16-17 this season. For what it is worth, Evans is more comfortable on hard courts than any other surface – something that should help him put up a fight against Rublev.

Rublev, Seeded Number Five
World No. 8 Andrey Rublev is 35-12 and is starting his journey in this year’s Canadian Open with a bye into round two.
His last tournament was in Washington, where he was the semifinalist but ended up losing to Nishioka in straight sets. However, that sole defeat does not shake what has been a spectacular year on the whole for Andrey.
The 24-year-old Russian won the Open 13, Dubai Tennis Championships, and Serbia Open, in addition to reaching the late rounds in several big-ticket events like the French Open, Indian Wells Masters, and Madrid Open.
He also boasts of a pretty impressive record against the elites on the tour – which makes him even more of a threat.
Rublev v Evans Prediction and Tip
Rublev has the odds in his favour but considering his shock loss to Nishioka last week (and his two defeats to Evans in the past), Daniel has the precedent to topple the fifth seed.
Expect an exciting encounter where an upset is certainly on the cards.
