Casper Ruud v Roberto Bautista Agut Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these players and Bautista Agut has won both times. Interestingly, one of them came on clay, Ruud’s favourite surface while the other was on the hard courts of Australia at the ATP Cup earlier this year.

After frittering away multiple chances to win the first set, Ruud took a roundabout way to clinch it before finishing things off in style in the second to make it through to the round of 16.
Ruud was up a break and had a set-point in both, the eighth and the ninth game of the opening set only to win it in a tie-breaker. In the second set, however, Ruud took full control of the encounter to claim the third round spot 7-6 (3), 6-3 in an hour and 58 minutes.
The Norwegian players slammed 13 aces and saved five of the six break-points he faced while breaking his opponent twice to make it through.
Can Ruud, who is now 9-3 in hard court competitions for the season and five wins from the previous five wins make it past Bautista Agut?

Bautista Agut Blasts Brooksby Aside
Bautista Agut will be terribly proud of the manner in which he has gone about his business this tournament so far, with back to back straight-set wins over American players.
After starting out with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory over Marcos Giron in the first round, Bautista Agut sent Jenson Brooksby packing 7-5, 6-1 in the second to set up this meeting with Ruud.
In a match lasting less than an hour and a half, Bautista Agut, Brooksby had a chance to go 5-3 ahead on his serve but was broken in the eighth game and then again in the 12th as he served to take the set into a tie-breaker.
Buoyed by this, Bautista Agut proceeded to break him three more times in the second set to wrap it up in double-quick time and make it through.
Ruud will be a way tougher opponent but Bautista Agut has shown he is capable of handing the Norwegian number one.
