Belinda Bencic v Beatriz Haddad Maia Head to Head

Interestingly, both players faced four break-points and while Bencic saved all of them, she managed to break Muguruza all four times too!
This win follows victories over two tricky opponents for Bencic – she had overcome Tereza Martincova in the first round and gotten past the legend Serena Williams in the second. And both with consummate ease.

Haddad Maia Shocks Swiatek
Not too many would have expected this kind of a result in the third round with Haddad Maia causing the upset of the tournament with a three-set win over the world number one Iga Swiatek.
In a match lasting three hours and one minute, Haddad Maia overcame Swiatek 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to reach the last eight of a WTA 1000 event for the first time in her career. This has also been her first appearance at the Canadian Open, making it an even memorable achievement.
Haddad Maia had earlier overcome Martina Trevisan in the first round and in another shock result, defeated Leylah Fernandez in the second.
Against Swiatek though, Haddad Maia was a whopping 11/2 to win and she did so off her fourth match-point. Can she now overcome the in-form Bencic?
