Karolina Pliskova v Venus Williams Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two and Pliskova leads the head to head 2-1.
Venus Williams had won their first outing at the WTA Elite Trophy of 2015 but since then, they have met at the 2016 US Open and 2017 WTA Finals and Pliskova has clinched them both.

It was becoming a forgettable season for Pliskova before she came into the Canadian Open in Toronto with the Czech having won just 10 matches for the year as compared to her 12 defeats.
Wins over Barbora Krejcikova, Amanda Anisimova, Maria Sakkari and Qinwen Zheng, however, took the world number 14 to the semifinal of what was her second tournament in the US Open Series before she fell to Beatriz Haddad Maia at the last four stage.
It was a fighting performance against her Brazilian opponent but in the end Pliskova lost it in straight sets.
Earlier Pliskova had also fallen to Anisimova in San Jose Open’s second round.

Venus Continues to Hunt for a Win
Since winning her first round match at the 2021 Wimbledon, Venus Williams is yet to pocket another encounter. She had lost in the second round there before ending her season with an opening defeat in Chicago in August.
This season, Venus has featured in only two tournaments so far and lost both her first round matches.
At the Washington Open, Venus lost to Rebecca Marino in three sets before Jil Teichmann took her down in two in Toronto last week. Now, as she takes to court for another opener, she would hope she can get some rhythm going before the US Open.
Against an in-form and quick-serving Pliskova, it might not be that easy though.
