Denis Shapovalov v Tommy Paul Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and Paul has won both of them.
In 2021, they faced off in Stockholm in the final which Paul won in three sets before taking on each other at Queen’s Club this season. It resulted in another three-setter.

Shapovalov Breaks Three-Match Losing Streak
Faced with the prospect of another defeat against the higher-ranked Grigor Dimitrov, Shapovalov managed to pull off a solid performance and march into the second round.
Shapovalov, who had come into the Cincinnati Masters on the back of three successive defeats, carved out a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory to seal his round of 32 berth. He was on court for an hour and 29 minutes.
Slamming 10 aces in his opening round encounter against Dimitrov, Shapovalov saved both the break-points he faced while himself finding time to edge past his opponent on one of the break-points he faced.
In the end, it was an encounter of small margins which saw Shapovalov edge his opponent out on his first serves in and first serve points won. The Canadian will now hope to make it two in two but up against him is a player who has had a solid season in hard court competitions.

Paul Brushes Brooksby Aside
A quarterfinalist at the Canadian Open last week, Paul looked to have resumed from where he had left off there as he romped to an easy win over Jenson Brooksby.
Paul carved out a 6-3, 6-2 victory in a matter of an hour and 11 minutes in a match that saw the contrast between the two players’ quality very evident from the beginning.
The world number 31 found himself receiving nine break-points in the encounter of which he converted three – one in the first and two in the second – while himself facing no break-points.
This victory follows Paul’s wins over Carlos Alcaraz and Marin Cilic in Canada last week and puts him on to the favourites pedestal for this match against Shapovalov.
Shapovalov v Paul Prediction and Tip
While Shapovalov would be relieved to have broken the losing streak it does look like Paul should not have a lot of trouble in taming his opponent in this one. Even a straight-set win for Paul won’t be a surprise.
Tip: Paul to win: 3/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
