Elena Rybakina v Madison Keys Head to Head

There has been one previous meeting between these two players and that came earlier this year at the French Open.

Keys had won that third round match in a battling three-setter, with the final set going into a tie-breaker.

Rybakina Continues Sizzling Form

The Wimbledon title notwithstanding, Rybakina seemed to be in bit of a struggle since then, even blaming it on her lack of preparations before the start of the US Open Series.

The good news is Rybakina seems to have rediscovered her form here in Cincinnati as she went on to register her successive straight-set win.

It came against Alison Riske in this third round match which lasted an hour and 26 minute with the world number 25 banging in nine aces and breaking her opponent four times in the encounter.

This followed Rybakina’s victories over Mayar Sherif, in which she dropped five games, and Garbine Muguruza, where she came away a 6-3, 6-1 winner.

With that kind of form under her belt, Rybakina could test out her opponent in this one.

Keys Sends Swiatek Packing

While world number one Iga Swiatek’s recent performances have been anything but clinical, a lot of credit must be afforded to the manner in which Keys sent her on her way in their third round match.

Keys, who is a former title winner in Cincinnati, disposed off the top seeded Swiatek 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last eight. The match lasted an hour and 26 minutes.

The first set went to serve till the sixth game when Keys drew first blood, going to a 0-40 lead on her opponent’s serve and breaking her soon after. A game later she broke Swiatek to love to clinch the opening set.

And when Keys continued with her form to break Swiatek two more times to race to a 5-0 lead in the second, the writing was on the wall.

Not to be outdone, the Pole struck right back with back to back breaks and holds but as she served at 4-5 to stay in the match, Keys broke right back to clinch the encoounter.

She looks to be in the kind of touch which could prove handful for Rybakina.

Rybakina v Keys Prediction and Tip

Not surprisingly, Rybakina starts a 4/6 favourite here but at 13/10, Keys looks a tempting option especially given her straight-set wins over Yulia Putintseva, Jelena Ostapenko and Swiatek.
