World No. 10 Daria Kasatkina has had a somewhat mixed spell in the US Open swing so far.

Nonetheless, Kasatkina is 32-16 and is coming to Quebec following a superb year in which she made her top 10 debut in the WTA rankings and made it to her maiden Grand Slam semifinal (Roland Garros).

Minnen, Current World No. 109
Greet Minnen, ranking in the early 100s, faces the Herculean task of winning this demanding first-round bout in the Granby Open.
Her singles season hasn’t gone well, as it can be summed up with 15-16, and she is now on a two-match losing streak stretching across the Citi Open and Thoreau Open.
Most of Minnen’s WTA season has gone by in these early losses, and the modicum of success she did experience, it all came on the ITF circuit. At the start of the year, she won the ITF Altenkirchen and was later the runner-up in Nur-Sultan.
