Nuria Parrizas Diaz v Rebecca Peterson Head to Head

World No. 64 Nuria Parrizas Diaz is set to feature in the WTA Quebec 2022 following an uneventful spell in the last couple of tournaments.
Featuring in the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open, the 31-year-old cleared the qualifying two matches after beating the likes of Danka Kovinic, Cristina Bucsa, and Kayla Cross – but did not manage to win her first-round main draw match.
Looking at her overall season (21-24), Diaz has had an erratic year marked with ups and downs. Her clay and grass court campaigns were not that great, but she did fare well on the hard courts at the start of 2022.
Nuria reached the quarterfinal in Melbourne, round three in the Australian Open, and the semifinal in Monterrey. Moreover, she also has 38 ITF finals to her name – most of which have come on the hard courts.

Peterson, Coming off a Semifinal Run
World No. 83 Rebecca Peterson featured in the semifinal of the Vancouver Challenger just last week, where she moved past Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, Catherine Harrison, and Maddison Inglis before losing to Lucia Bronzetti.
That was her best run of the season so far, with her tally now improved to 17-15.
Before this, her other highlights included reaching the quarterfinal in ITF Wiesbaden and Bastad Challenger and the second round in WTA Adelaide 2 and Melbourne Set 2.
Clearly, Peterson hasn’t had the best of the season – or a consistent one. However, the 27-year-old Swede will be confident following her positive run in Vancouver and look to cause the upset.
Diaz v Peterson Prediction and Tip
Nuria Parrizas Diaz has the advantage here owing to her superior pedigree and experience. Peterson can put up a fight and topple the Spaniard, provided she starts the match on a solid note.
