Having started off the season ranked 115th in the world, Parry has slowly moved up the charts to establish herself as a top-100 player, currently ranked 78th in the world.
Parry’s best showing this season came on the grass courts of Gaiba and Wimbledon – at the former she made the semifinal while at the third Grand Slam of the season, Parry reached the third round.
On hard courts, however, things haven’t looked as rosy for Parry.
The Frenchwoman featured in seven hard court tournaments at the beginning of this season and failed to make it to the main draw of six of those. At the seventh, the Australian Open at which she got a direct entry, Parry lost in the first round.
More recently, she also played at the Cincinnati Open and lost her opening qualifier to Caroline Garcia, the eventual champion.

Sun Makes it Through the Qualifiers
Known more on the ITF circuit, Sun had made her debut at the highest level earlier this year at the Morocco Open where she was blown off the court Arantxa Rus.
Sun then tried to make it through to the main draw at Wimbledon but fell to a third qualifying round exit, before losing in the first round of the Concord Open – a WTA125 event.
Here at Granby, Sun has done well to win both her qualifiers, overcoming Ena Shibhara and Jana Fett in the couple of rounds to make the main draw.
