Anna Bondar v Kayla Cross Head to Head

Bondar Struggling in America
Featuring in her third tournament in the US Open Series this season, Bondar has struggled to get going. In the previous two tournaments, in Toronto for the Canadian Open and then in Cincinnati, Bondar has played a measely total of two matches and lost both.
At the first, Bondar was sent packing by a struggling Elise Mertens in straight sets. And then in the Cincinnati Open, Bondar failed to even make the main draw as she fell to a straight-set defeat at the hands of Taylor Townsend in the opening qualifier.
Even earlier this year, Bondar’s only two win in the main draw of a hard court event came in the Melbourne Summer Set, where she pipped Katerina Siniakova in her opener and in Miami.
At four other tournaments, Bondar either failed to make it past the opening round or even through to the main draw of the competition.

Cross Makes Maiden Main Draw
She is just 17 years of age and currently ranked outside the top 1200 on the WTA charts but Cross has already achieved something she might not have expected to this early – an entry into the main draw of a tournament as a qualifier.
And Cross did not have to struggle too much either.
The Canadian ripped past Tereza Mihalikova and Himeno Sakatsume in straight sets, dropping a mere 10 games across the two matches, to make it to round one. At the latter, she was 5/2 underdog to win and still managed a win.
Having gotten to the finals of two Grand Slam junior tournaments from the doubles, Cross has some confidence going otherwise too. Will that be enough, however, to test Bondar?
Bondar v Cross Prediction and Tip
Given Bondar’s form and Cross’ exuberance of youth, we could see an interesting battle that sees the the youngers put up some fight. A good games handicap option for this.
