Hijikata Recently Won Maiden Main Draw Match
Having been known more for his performances on the Challenger and Futures circuit, Hijikata recently attained his first ever ATP main draw victory.
It was a momentous occasion for the Aussie, who is ranked at his career-best ranking of 198th in the world, as he marched into the second round of the Los Cabos Open.
Hijikata had earlier featured in one of the Melbourne Summer Set competitions as a wildcard entrant and lost his opener. He had won just three games against Maxime Cressy.
Against Nadal, Hijikata would look to garnet as experience as he could, because the only way he is beating the Spaniard is if his opponent ends up injuring himself during the encounter.
