Cameron Norrie v Benoit Paire Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Norrie had won that 2019 Auckland Open encounter in straight sets.

Having won his first two titles on the ATP circuit last season, Norrie has collected a couple more of them this season. What has stood out for Norrie in 2022, however, is he has gained more confidence in Grand Slams as well.
The British number one hadn’t made it past the third round of any major till last year. This season, the Brit reached the third round at Roland Garros and then waltzed into the semifinal at Wimbledon as well, where he put up a good showing against Novak Djokovic.
More recently, on hard courts, Norrie reached the final of the Los Cabos Open where he lost to Daniil Medvedev and was a semifinalist in Cincinnati.
With a first round exit at US Open under his belt last year, Norrie will know he can do a lot better than that after having gained all this confidence this season. Expecting him to do justice to his form here.

Paire’s Won Just Five Matches All Season
Since the pandemic-induced break for tennis ended, Paire has barely had anything going for him results-wise. And it’s been no different this season too with the Frenchman winning just five matches in all.
And at this US Open Series, Paire has won just one – at Washington where he overcame Peter Gojowczyk in the first round – before he went down to Holger Rune.
What makes this series of defeats even worse is that Paire hasn’t won too many sets in his defeats. For instance, other than that victory over Gojowczyk, Paire’s won no set in his previous five defeats.
And coming up against a player who is the pink of his health, form-wise, it doesn’t look likely that Paire is winning too many sets either.
