Sara Sorribes Tormo v Aliaksandra Sasnovich Head to Head

This will be their first meeting on the WTA Tour.

Tormo Passes Osorio Test

Sara Sorribes Tormo found herself in a long match as she beat Camila Osorio 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3. It was not the cleanest of the performances from the Spaniard, but she got the job done.

Now ranked World No. 46, the 25-year-old has had an uneventful spell of late as she lost in round two in Toronto and the opener in Cincinnati to Aryna Sabalenka and Alison Riske-Amritraj respectively.

The highlight of her season has notably been the clay court events in Istanbul, Madrid, and Lausanne, where she was a quarterfinalist. Moreover, Tormo was a semifinalist in Palermo too.

But this is not to say Sara is not comfortable on hard courts. She was among the final eight in Guadalajara and Monterrey and has also won the sole WTA singles title of her career on this turf itself (Abierto Zapopan, 2021).

Sasnovich Beats Krunic

Aliaksandra Sasnovich (#36) enjoyed a comfortable start in Cleveland as she beat Aleksandra Krunic 7-6(5), 6-1.

The seventh-seeded Belarusian is looking to reach her first singles final since the Melbourne 250 in January, where she was the runner-up after losing to Amanda Anisimova.

However, much akin to Tormo, the Belarusian too incurred an early defeat in her most recent tournament in Cinci to Caty McNally.

However, Sasnovich featured in the quarters in St. Petersburg and fourth round in the Miami Open and French Open, where she beat the likes of Emma Raducanu, Angelique Kerber, and Daria Kasatkina.

Tormo v Sasnovich Prediction and Tip

This is an evenly-matched affair that can go either way.

Sasnovich has the advantage of being a more consistent player on hard courts, but given her recent shaky form, Tormo will fancy her chances. Expect an intriguing affair.
