Nuria Parrizas-Diaz was able to get in some more matches in Granby last week to better prepare for the US Open where she will try to get some wins. The Spaniard has a very interesting playstyle that catches many players off guard the first time they play her.
Very aggressive in nature, the Spaniard looks to control the match and attack and for the most part, it gives results. Her best play comes on clay but she’s quite solid on hard courts as well. A good result in New York could push her further in the rankings and that’s the goal.
23-25 is not that good but 11-12 on hard courts is quite respectable considering her track record on the surface. Her result in New York last year was a loss in the opening round and she has a fairly solid chance to go further this year. Galfi is a good draw for her.

Galfi Back To Playing
Dalma Galfi played her final match before this one in Budapest in the 2nd week of July. Since then she didn’t play a single match and will head to New York without any prep events. It’s a problem for her as she will have very little time to get used to a surface on which she doesn’t play that much.
She played well earlier this year on it and a 13-7 record proves it but tennis is a very rhythm-based sport and very few players can turn it on immediately. It’s been somewhat of a special year for Galfi with a 31-17 record showing tremendous improvement.
She is still fairly young and there is still time to carve out a great career. She played in New York last year after qualifying for the main draw but Petra Martic proved better.
Parrizas-Diaz v Galfi Prediction and Tip
This would been a very good spot to choose Galfi to upset the Spaniard but I simply can’t do it due to her not playing in quite a while.
I can’t see her simply turning it out and winning the match with any sort of prep.
